Welcome to Tim Fanelli's RFID wiki... a place for me to keep track of the goings on in my RFID enabled hobby projects.
If you are not very familiar with RFID technology, please begin by reading my RFID Implant Philosophy page. I understand several of the more common concerns and criticisms, and have prepared a calm and thought out reply. Once you have read it, you can feel free to contact me... your questions are welcome, and I'd be glad to answer them; however, harassing or critical e-mails will simply be discarded.
If you would like to contribute to this wiki, please feel free to register at the login page, and notify me at <tim AT timfanelli DOT com> so I can grant you editor privileges. I would love for this to become a community wiki - in which case I would register a new domain specifically for it, stop calling it "Tim Fanelli's RFID Wiki", and host it there instead.
Essentials
My implants are Hitag S 2048 125 kHz RFID tags, encased in a 2mm x 12mm BioGlass ampules. They were sterilized and implanted by Paul at Sleepy Hollow Studios in Potsdam, NY, using an Avid SUD.
My readers are idTRONIC USB "EVO" Stick Readers. I obtained these readers through idTRONIC's US distributor, Bright Card.
- Most of my projects will be backed by picoATX form factor PC's using USB enabled readers - so this will be sufficient.
For OEM projects, I'm considering the modular RFID components from IB Technology
RFID Projects
PAM Authentication Module for RFID tags - used to provide authentication using my RFID tag to my Linux, or other PAM enabled, Operating Systems.
Electronic Access for Your Home - inspired by dooRFID in Amal's RFID Toys book, Home Access is a computer control system for managing access to my home.
